Warriors Condemned Before The Kick Of A Ball

The NRL's serial underachievers have been the answer to the question "who do you think takes the spoon this year?" in the last few weeks.

With the Knights recruiting really well, and the Tigers too, many people believe that it could well be the Warriors year to claim their first ever Wooden Spoon.

To be honest, it wouldn't be a big surprise if this was the case, the Warriors have really faded in the last 2 years, only avoiding the finishing in the bottom 2 due to strong mid season performances.

The Warriors narrowly missed out on the finals in 2016, after winning just 2 of their final 8 fixtures, but requiring 4 wins from their final 8 to secure a spot in the finals,  leaving them still in search of their first top 8 finish since 2011.

The expectations of the Warriors have fallen further and further in recent times, from people speculating whether they could make the 8, to people now speculating whether the Warriors can finish anywhere but bottom.

This early write off could however be a blessing in disguise for New Zealand, for years they have crumbled under the expectations weighing on them, but with those shackles cut, could New Zealand be set to shock everyone in 2018? Or are they on course for the darkest days in the clubs history?
