Ipswich Prepared To Offer Spot To Taylor

How the mighty fall, Dave Taylor has gone from a $1 million contract, to hoping for an Intrust Super Cup side to salvage his career.

Taylor was released by the Toronto Wolfpack after just 2 weeks at the club, after reportedly breaking curfew twice while on training camp in Portugal.

At the age of 17 Rugby League was Dave Taylor's world to capture, a man that combined size and speed so perfectly, aptly earning the nickname "coaltrain". Fast forward 12 years, Taylor has accomplishments to his name, origin and international caps, strange to think that even then he never fulfilled his true potential.

A man that has that level of Rugby League skill, ability and physicality, is now left looking to a semi pro team and a full time job to support himself financially.

It looks like it could well be the end of Taylor's professional Rugby League career, NRL sides don't like to take on players with a history of misdemeanours, especially not older players with a short shelf life.

For now Ipswich have shown interest in Taylor, whether he takes the opportunity is yet to be seen.
