Gelling And Mcilorum Leave Wigan

Anthony Gelling and Michael Mcilorum have both been granted early release from the remainder of their contracts.

The Warriors confirmed today that both of their long serving players have left the club with immediate effect. Mcilorum has been linked heavily with Catalans Dragons in recent weeks, the Dragons have confirmed he has signed a two year deal with them.

Gelling however looks like a casualty of Sarginson's return, there was always going to be tough decisions made, not many suspected that it could see the Wigan stalwart leave the club.

Mcilorum has enjoyed 10 years with the club, making in excess of 230 appearances, before falling out of favour after a long term injury would open the door for young hooker Sam Powell.

Gelling joined Wigan back in 2012, ever since he has been an integral part of the club, both on and off the field.

Both players are huge losses to Wigan.
