Coach Flanagan's Son To Play For The Sharks

Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has confirmed that he will give his son, Kyle, a run out in the halves in the trials.

Kyle Flanagan has been in the Cronulla system for a while now, playing for the Sharks NYC team, where he has impressed coaching staff and his dad.

While Shane Flanagan has already stated that his first choice playmakers are Matt Moylan and Chad Townsend, he said "during the Origin period, form and injury, he’ll get his chance at some stage during the year."

Flanagan has always said that if he felt Kyle was ready, regardless of their family relationship, that he would have no hesitation to put the 19 year-old in an NRL first grade game.

By the sounds of things it looks like Kyle Flanagan may get his debut this year.
