Year In Review 2017: Gold Coast Titans

Well i'm sure a lot of Titans fans are glad to have this season over with. With only seven wins on the season its pretty safe to say that the year didn't go to plan. There was plenty of distractions this season that basically started with the whole "Cocaine" Saga after the Anzac test early on in the season, in which Kevin Proctor admitted to buying and using the illicit substance after the match.

Fast track a bit further into the season and issues started arising between then Coach Neill Henry and "Star" player Jarryd Hayne which ended in the sacking of coach Henry. all these distractions clearly impacted the on field performance which was notable by a majority of the fans.

Towards the end of the World Cup there was a lot of speculation that Fiji International and Titans Jarryd Hayne wanted out of his current contract, which was denied in the media only led to the official announcment that Jarryd had been granted an official release by the club to return back home to Parramatta where he had spent almost his whole career.

However the future looks bright for the club with ownership rights being bought off the NRL to a consortium containing Darryl Kelly and Rebecca Frizelle and to go along with the numerous signings the club has made for next season including players like, Michael Gordon (Roosters), Jai Arrow (Broncos), Mitch Rein (Panthers) and Jack Stockwell (Knights).

Hopefully the Titans can move past these off field incidents and build a strong foundation with new Coach Garth Brennan.

My Prediction? Unfortunately I haven't seen too much improvement as of yet but a good foundation to move forward, I see them finishing down the bottom of the table around 15th-16th. I hope i'm wrong and this club can surprise a lot of people.
