Simona's Super League Lifeline Cut

Tim Simona has had a moved to England blocked by the NRL.

Simona's former coach and current Hull KR coach, Tim Sheens, approached the NRL in an effort to bring the disgraced star back to Rugby League.

The move was not to go through though, not because of the betting, but due to international eligibility rules when playing in the UK. The rules state "those seeking a contract in the English competitions must play 50% of games in the NRL the previous year unless injured".

As Simona doesn't meet this criteria for eligibility, Hull KR or any other team playing in the English competitions can take Simona on.

Simona's manager is rumoured to be exploring the options of European Rugby Union in an effort to find Simona a club.
