Old Enemies, New Territory

Australia vs England is always a hard fought game, it's not always the most competitive, but they are some of the more enjoyable of the international fixtures.

The last time these two sides met in a World Cup final was 1995, this was England's last World Cup final too, the Aussies would run out 16-8 winners. England assistant coach, Dennis Betts, actually captained England in this game so there will be a personal element in this game for him.

The history books really favour the Australian's, these two sides have 17 previous meetings, Australia have won 14 of these matches, losing just 2 and drawing 1.

The 1995 group stages of the World Cup was the last time England got a win against the Australian's, a 20-16 victory which would see England top their group.

England will hope to end their 22 years of hurt by claiming their first ever World Cup trophy. Could this finally be England's year?
