Kalyn Ponga lines his allegiance with Australia and the QLD Maroons

Newcastle Knight new star recruit Kalyn Ponga has ended the long speculation on which Country he would represent which started back when the youngster signed with the North Queensland Cowboys.

Ponga was named in the QLD emerging Origin Squad earlier today. This means he has rejected playing for New Zealand and as of 2018 will be eligible for Australia and QLD duties should he be selected.

“I have spoken to Kalyn and he has indicated that he wants to be part of the Queensland pathways which is very exciting for Kalyn and very exciting for the Queensland Rugby League.
