Carney's Plea To The NRL

The exiled former State Of Origin star, Todd Carney, has made a desperate plea with the NRL to show them he is a changed man.

The former Raiders, Roosters and Sharks halfback, has said that in an effort to have a contract approved, he will be willing to quit drinking completely, as that was a key factor in his misdemeanours.

Carney's chances of a return hit another snag today, as the NRL confirmed Manly were under investigation for alleged cap breaches, all this comes after Trent Barrett had told media he was watching Carney.

Carney spoke to Barrett earlier in the week, not to plead for a deal to be pushed through, but instead to confirm whether rumours of the Sea Eagles interest was real, rather than media speculation.

Barrett has recently revealed that, like it or not, Carney would be on a strict alcohol ban for the duration of his contract, if he was to be signed.

Surely it's time for his return to the NRL.
