Barrett Eyeing Carney

Could Trent Barrett be on the verge of ending Todd Carney's NRL exodus.

The Manly Coach has reportedly spoken of watching Carney, amongst other halfbacks, after failing to secure the signature of Mitchell Pearce.

The 31 year-old playmaker is currently playing for the Northern Pride in the Intrust Super Cup, but has a condition in his contract that says he can leave if an NRL side approaches him.

If Barrett was to make a play for the former New South Wales Blues halfback, it would be then up to the NRL if so they would allow the contract to be registered, if it was to be approved there would be very strict rules that Carney would have to adhere to off-field.

There has been no contact so far from Manly with Carney as yet, we will have to wait and see if his 3 year absence is over.
