Raiders Demand Explanation Over Hodgson

The Canberra raiders are said to be less than impressed with the way that England handled the on-field assessment of Josh Hodgson, and now they demand answers.

Hodgson appeared to come off second best in a tackle early in the first half of this weekends semi-final. He remained on the ground in considerable discomfort, clutching at his knee. A member of the England medical team quickly attended to the hooker, after a quick assessment Hodgson appeared to give the nod that he is fine to continue.

Less than ten minutes later, Hodgson would commit to a tackle and be left prone in backplay. The England medical team then decided it was both in the player, and the teams best interests, if Hodgson was withdrawn from the field.

Don Furner, told NRL.com, that his side are seeking salary cap exemption for the injured man, as he may be out until round 20 next season. Furner went on to say "we want a full investigation" he proceeded to say "We noticed he did seem to go down and get an injury to his knee, and then stayed on and did it again. So we want to know from the England medical team how their assessment went. We have a duty of care to our players, so we've asked for a full report so we can take it from there".

The full extent of the ACL injury is as yet unknown, until Hodgson sees the knee specialist in Canberra, then the Raiders will know just how long they are missing their first choice hooker.
