Phone Call Hints At Pearce's Next Club

Former Sydney Roosters man and current Newcastle Knights player, Connor Watson, has revealed to Fox Sports that received a phone call from former team mate Pearce.

Watson said "He sort of asked me about the club and what I thought of Newcastle so far". Watson went on to say "I told him I love it. I obviously haven’t been here too long but from the time I’ve spent here and around training, it’s a good place and there’s a good vibe here".

Pearce is clearly testing the water in regards to his options, it's also been revealed that Cronulla players Paul Gallen and Wade Graham had recently contacted the off contract halfback in an effort to upsell their club as an option.

Manly are rumoured to be the favourites for the in demand halfback's signature, but the Knight's and  Pearce's name seem to keep cropping up in the same sentence more frequently now. Details of the pitch the Knights gave him have also come to light, the talk was strictly Rugby related in which coach, Nathan Brown, and General Manager of Rugby for Newcastle Darren Mooney, sat Pearce down and explained the vision of the club for the coming year and further.

Watson stated "he's not sure what he's doing yet" but Pearce has stated his decision will be made in the next week or so.
