Pearce Confirmed By Knights

Newcastle Knights chief executive Phil Gardner has confirmed Pearce has agreed to a $1 million a season, 4 year deal with the New South Wales based club.

Pearce and his management have today spoken with Cronulla and Manly to inform them that he is no longer on the market, and that he has accepted the bumper deal from the Newcastle Knights.

An official statement and press conference is expected to go ahead on Friday and Pearce could be with his new side as early as then, not everyone is as excited as Newcastle fans right now, current Newcastle half Brock Lamb is said to be now considering his options as he feels he will be the man to be pushed out of the squad.

Lamb's manager, Gavin Orr, has spoken about the situation saying "We will let the dust settle and try to talk to Nathan and the Knight's about Brock's situation." this situatuion is near identical to the same situation that forced Pearce to leave the Roosters, could this now see Lamb move to Manly?

The Sea-Eagles are still in the market for a halfback and Lamb could potentially fill the gap, at just 20 years of age, and 24 first grade NRL games under his belt, he could be a good move for the club.
It's early days yet, but this halfback merry go round could continue for weeks to come as more play-makers are rumoured to be considering their options, as jilted players from other clubs arrive.
