Papua New Guinea vs USA

The Kumuls will finish top their pool if they can beat the USA. The Tomohawk's are without a win and a loss to PNG will see them bow out of the tournament in the group stages. America made the quarterfinals in the last World Cup but unfortunately it seems they won't be able to repeat this in 2017.

Papau New Guinea will look to make it 3 from 3 against the US. The Kumuls trounced Wales but struggled past Ireland so I get the feeling that this game will be a little easier for PNG. The US haven't offered much in the way of opposition in their opening two fixtures, I really can't see that changing in this game either, as PNG look for a flawless entry into the quarterfinals.

PNG are the outright favourites for this game and most people are expecting the US to be on the receiving end of their third consecutive big loss. It would be nice to see the US put on a big show for their exit to the tournament but I feel the Kumuls will be going for the throat in this one.

PNG: Papau New Guinea offer a debut to 19 year old Lachlan Lam in the six jersey, who replaces the rested Ase Boas. The US will have a big problem in the shape of Luke Page, the powerhouse forward has made great metres in the competition so far and he will take some stopping, regardless of where he is on the field.

The Kumuls powerful backs will look to add to their tournament totals; Mead, Lo and MacDonald have already scored in previous matches so far, they will be keen to help the score line. PNG like to send the ball wide at the minute so I predicting that MacDonald and Lo will both be on the score sheet this week.

USA: The Tomohawk's are going to have to find some inspiration for this game, where is that inspiration is going to come from? Your guess is as good as mine. The US have nothing to lose so they may as well throw the ball around and make a good go of the game.

Junior Vavai could be the man that could spark something, he has been one of the much better players in this US side. He will be watched closely when attacking, he has easily been one of the US's best players in attack and defense.

Conclusion: PNG have fielded a weaker side for this game but I still see them running up a good score line in this game. The US know their tournament is over so will look to go out on their terms, unfortunately I can't see the Tomohawk's doing enough to stop the Kumuls winning this one, I'm calling this by a minimum of 30 points to PNG.
