Hodgson's Tournament Is Over

England Rugby League have released an official statement this morning, in regards to speculation that Hodgson had ruptured his ACL during Saturdays clash with Tonga.

Midway through the first half, the England hooker appeared to be in a lot of discomfort, after some on-field treatment Hodgson then continued to play. Hodgson then required further treatment no more than 5 minutes later after participating in a tackle. England removed him from the field and he didn't return.

England medical staff have now confirmed their worst fears, after reviewing an MRI scan post game they can confirm that the Canberra hooker had sustained an ACL injury, the extent of the damage is unknown but it could see Hodgson out for 6 months plus.

England have confirmed that Hodgson will now return to Canberra to receive a specialist consultation and surgery, if deemed necessary.
